Innovative AI-based chemical vapour detection platform for monitoring busy spaces
Expanding from the successful AirU network and our DARPA YFA air monitoring platform this project will develop a low-cost modular platform capable of detecting and monitoring toxic chemical compounds. The success of our sensor network will rely on the convergence of our low-cost commercial sensing elements implemented in a commercially available air quality sensor platform (from Salt Lake City-based start-up, Tellus) with high spatial coverage. The compatibility with several communication protocols will ensure seamless integration with network infrastructures, and our artificial intelligence-based algorithms will allow to identify chemical compounds of interest and aggregate the data from a variety of sensors to perform appropriate background removal.
